CONTEMPORARY CRAFT RETREAT Frequently asked Questions
WHAT DAY AND TIME DO WE ARRIVE???
If you are staying on site for 3 nights, please book in between 12 noon and 1.00pm or after dinner, 6.45 to 8.30pm on Friday night.
Please arrive by 8.15am Saturday if you are staying for 2 nights only.
Book in at the COTTER ROTARY HALL (building on the left opposite the oval).
If you are not staying on site, please arrive no later than 15 minutes before your class time & register at the COTTER ROTARY HALL.
Classes run from:-
1.30pm to 5.30pm and 7.00 to 9.00 pm Friday
9am to 5.30pm Saturday
9am to 5.30pm Sunday
9am to 12 noon Monday
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM BOOKING???
We have two full days and 2 half days of classes available.
You may book a minimum of half a day as a Day Visitor
If staying over night, 2 nights accommodation is the minimum.
(One night will be considered, please contact us for a quote as it is not listed on the Registration page.)
WHAT TYPE OF ACCOMMODATION IS OFFERED??
Accommodation is clean,comfortable and hostel style.
Rooms are to be shared with a maximum of 3 OR for an extra fee, 2 per room.
All rooms have upper & lower bunk beds and ensuites.
There are limited twin share rooms available.
Bed Linen is supplied to those coming from out of town.
Bring your own TOWEL, soap, shampoo and toiletries.
Ear plugs (optional).
The venue is approx. 34 minutes by cab from the Canberra airport. See "Location & Layout" page for details.
If possible, please arrange a shared taxi with friends so that costs can be minimized.
If there is enough interest we are hoping to arrange a pick-up schedule.
DO WE NEED TO BRING LINEN AND TOWELS???
Bed Linen & bath mat is included for out of town attendees. Please bring a towel.
Locals please bring sheets, pillowslips and towels.... and your Doona if you wish.
Yes, if staying 'in house' the all inclusive fee covers accommodation,
Dinner on Friday.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, Morning and Afternoon tea on Saturday.
Breakfast, Lunch, dinner, Morning tea and Afternoon Tea on Sunday.
Breakfast morning Tea and lunch on Monday.
Friday visitors have an option for dinner.
Saturday Day Visitors : Lunch, Morning and Afternoon tea and dinner is included in your class fee. You are welcome to stay for demos etc until 9.30pm.
Sunday Day Visitors: Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner is included in your class fee. You are welcome to stay for demos etc until 9.30pm.
Monday Day Visitors: morning Tea and lunch is provided (if selected).
DAY VISITORS may choose to bring their own meals.... ( this will reduce DAY Attendance fees).
Tea/Coffee/Biscuits are available at all times in the Main Hall kitchenette.
Yes, special meals will be available, including gluten free, diary free, diabetic, vegetarian etc, at NO ADDITIONAL COST.
Please do not forget to inform us of your dietary needs when booking.
Yes, but do we suggest bringing some warm clothing with you.
There is a short walk to the dining hall and to the residences and it could be chilly, especially in the evening.
There are blankets available. Locals may like to bring a DOONA if you can fit it in.
Kits will be provided at an extra charge. You must Register by filling out the form, then order and pay for the kit through the class Instructor.
You are not officially Booked into a class until you have Registered then contacted the class Instructor & paid your kit fees.
If you wish to purchase a kit and NOT ATTEND a particular class, please contact the Instructor to order and pay for the Kit.
The kit will be available at the RETREAT for you to collect.
In this case PLEASE INFORM THE INSTRUCTOR THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ATTENDING THE CLASS.
WILL WE GET A MATERIALS LIST OF ITEMS TO BRING TO WORKSHOPS???There will be tools and supplies you will need to bring.
There will be a few class related supplies available to purchase.
If you wish to purchase supplies Students should place an order before the Retreat through www.metalclay.com.au
Please mention in your order that you would like it delivered to the Retreat, and your postage will be refunded in a day or 2. (yay !!! No postage costs.)
Bronny ( PAVERPOL AUSTRALIA), will take orders for your Paverpol supplies & bring them to the Retreat. A Paverpol stall will be operating during the Retreat.
Contact Bronny at Email 2 weeks prior to the Retreat if you wish to place an order.
Mini Market : Instructors & students are welcome to display & sell their creations Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
Please provide your own table. There may be tables available at night if you wish to set up and pull down each evening.
WHAT TIME DO CLASSES START AND FINISH ???
Friday 1.30pm to 5.30pm then 7 to 9pm
Saturday sessions begin at 9am & end at 5.30pm.
Saturday night Demonstrations, class preparation & sales.Competition results and Raffle draw.
Sunday Day session begins at 9am & concludes at 5.30pm
Sunday night sales, silent auction.
Monday session begins at 9 and concludes at 12 noon
Please select your course/s carefully. Courses will be filled and allocated well before the start of the Retreat.
It will not be possible to make a late course change at the Retreat.
Why are non-members being asked to pay a slightly higher entry fee???
Membership in the CCIP & Paverpol has its benefits, thus members pay less.
HOW DO I ENROL AND MAKE A PAYMENT ???
To Pay using Paypal:-
Please complete the Registration form and press SUBMIT. In the Paypal payment section you will be given a link to click on to make your selections.
On the PAYPAL PAYMENT Page press PAY NOW for paying your $150 DEPOSIT. Please ensure that your Paypal details are correct.
To pay in FULL: Choose the appropriate cost from the drop down menu and press ADD TO CART. Check the contents of your cart and continue through to Paypal. Please ensure that you complete all of the PayPal processes.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PAY OVER 3 PAYMENTS CHOOSE THIS OPTION ON THE REGISTRATION FORM & PAYMENT REMINDERS WILL BE SENT TO YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.
A receipt will be issued from Paypal within 48 hours.
To Pay using Direct Deposit:-
Complete the Registration form and press "Submit".
You will be given our bank details after submitting your registration form.
Please Log in to your Online Bank, and using the bank details provided, please make your Direct Deposit. It is important to use your name as a reference with the direct deposit to enable us to identify your payment.
Alternatively, go into your local Bank Branch and do a Direct Deposit using the bank details you received after the registration process. You may also do a direct deposit using our bank account details, at any branch of the Commonwealth Bank. It is important to use your name as a reference with the direct deposit to enable us to identify your payment.

Accommodation/Tuition Fees are due by 23rd September 2020
Deposits are non-refundable after SEPTEMBER 10th 2020.
(In some circumstances we will refund all but $50).
We will send out a reminder for further & final payments in May and July.
*Unfortunately we cannot hold places for attendees who have not paid in full by 23rd September 2020.
