ART DOLL BUST
PART #1

with

LINDA MISA

This is a full, busy 2-day workshop.

You will be working with a beautiful airdry clay to create an artdoll bust.
We start with one of my pre-sculpted face masks and learn how to turn this into a fully sculpted bust.
Working with texture and mark making tools, learning how we can incorporate pattern into the design and how to make your piece well balanced.
The use of colour and how it affects your design are also topics we will talk about as we play with the clay.

I love to work with each student
to achieve the look they are after –
if you have an idea of what you would like your finished piece to look like,
I will do my best to help you achieve it.

These are whimsical pieces so there are no rules as to what they can be like. Time will be our only enemy!
I aim to complete but I know that sometimes things will get finished at home.

I will provide a sculpted face, clay plus a body form in your kit fee. ($30.00)

DOUBLE "D" ICONS

with

WENDY MOORE

We creators need to be Double D girls: Dreamers AND Doers.  This is a class for dreaming and doing.  Create your Double D icon, connect with your inner Carnivale queen and discover your Rio roots. Learn lots of polymer skills on the way.  I have always been fascinated by reliquaries, shrines and iconography and have discovered that this form of art exists in many different traditions and cultures. Making these icons is A LOT OF FUN and will give you a chance to combine creative expression with reflection about values, intentions and having fun!  In my case making these also helps me deal with my latent desire for bigger, perkier boobs.

We will NOT be making a face cane but each participant will receive a slice of one made expressly for this class.  If you have made your own face cane (say in my class a couple of years ago), do bring it along.  We will try to match skin colours.  I will bring plenty of embellishment canes but this is a terrific project for using up butt ends of beloved canes if you have them.  Participants will receive extensive notes and my 40 Fantastic Canes Flow chart.

 GLASS

with

JANICE LAURENT

This workshop is either a follow up of Saturdays workshop Or a stand alone workshop.

You  will learn all the basics of glass COE, cutting, fusing and design.

Fuse small items into a larger piece

You will also learn how to cut glass into interesting shapes and add wire to enhance your design.

In your small microwave kiln (included in your kit) you will melt several pieces of glass into interesting shapes  then using one of the “class larger kilns”  fuse your pieces together into your personalised sun catcher approx 15 x 20cm

This is the best way to try these larger more expensive kilns and to make they meet your expectations before you take that next step of purchasing one.

I will have details of where you can purchase larger kilns and some. prices.

I will endeavour to have a couple of larger kilns for sale on the day and will

definitely have a selection of fusible glass.
